Laura is a dedicated therapist who has concentrated her practice in the area of women’s health. She provides treatment for women of all ages who may have a variety of common problems. Laura has been in practice since 1985 after graduating from the University of Vermont with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy.
She has focused her professional interests in evaluating, treating and educating pregnant women. In addition, she has been specially trained in treating urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic floor muscle disorders, post hysterectomy and post cesarean complications, musculoskeletal dysfunction, myofascial pain syndromes, and osteoporosis.
Laura is licensed in the state of Illinois and in addition received a specialist certificate in Women’s Health Physical Therapy from Texas Women’s University in 2000. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association section on Women’s Health, and of the International Childbirth Educator’s Association.
Laura feels that empowering the patient with knowledge is key to their health goals, therefore she lectures within the surrounding communities on topics related to women’s health including: incontinence, menopause, pelvic floor health, exercise in, pregnancy back school, and osteoporosis. For Laura, specializing in women’s health has been a rewarding and enjoyable field to work in.
